It may not look much now but a small working party has finished preparing the area by the large container and has sown grass seed there ready for the barbecue season.
There are still places available at the annual dinner which will take place at Deal and Betteshanger Rugby Club, Canada Road, on Friday, March 31. The cost is £20 per person which must be paid in full by Sunday, March 19.

Cropwatch Horticulture of Dover is holding an open evening next month where you will be able to buy tools, equipment, fertiliser, pots, seed trays and a range of growing products.
The event takes place at Martin’s Nursery, Poison Cross, Statenborough Lane, Eastry, CT13 0DL, on Monday, March 27 from 6pm to 8pm.
Today’s working party carried on clearing the ground beside the big container so that grass can be sown there in spring.
We had two rotovators in action and a small team of helpers picking up rubble, glass and all manner of other debris in their wake
