The clocks change on Sunday which means that the earliest time you can start a bonfire at the allotments will be 4pm.
But, in any case, Sunday will be your last chance for the time being to have a bonfire on site because the allotment rules say they are not allowed at all from April 1 to September 30.
As another sign of the changing seasons, the water will be switched on on Monday.
The first plot inspections of 2019 will also take place next week.
Cropwatch Horticulture of Dover is holding an open evening on Monday, April 1, from 6pm to 8pm, where you will be able to buy tools, equipment, fertiliser, pots, seed trays and a range of growing products.
The event takes place at Martin’s Nursery, Poison Cross, Statenborough Lane, Eastry, CT13 0DL.
Everyone who ordered seed potatoes from Terry has now collected them but there are still a few bags available.
The varieties on offer are: Duke of York first earlies; Kestrel second earlies; King Edward maincrop.
They are £2.20 per 2kg bag.
If you want to buy some, please speak to Terry (plot 18) or Ron (plot 22b).
