October 1 is the first day on which bonfires can be lit on site and it is also the day when the mains water is turned off for the winter.
So, from Monday, you will be allowed to light a bonfire but only after 4pm. You must not leave it unattended. Please also avoid having a fire when the weather conditions could adversely affect our neighbours.
These 3 metal frames are on offer free of charge. You’ll find them by the shed on plot 14B. Please help yourself.
It may feel as if it’s only five minutes since you dug up this year’s potatoes but it’s already time to start thinking about next year’s crop.
The Association is, once again, offering a range of seed potatoes at the bargain price of just £1.10 per kg.
There will be nine varieties on offer.
First Earlies: Pentland Javelin, Casablanca, Duke of York white
Second Earlies: Charlotte, Marfona, Kestrel
Maincrop: Sarpo Mira, Cara, King Edward
They come in 2kg bags.
If you want to buy some, please place your order with Terry Johnson ( plot 18) by October 16.
Payment will be due when you receive your seed potatoes.
Because the Association is offering these bargain-priced seed potatoes we will not accept any orders for seed potatoes through the Kings Seeds Catalogues.
Any other orders from the Kings Seeds Catalogue must be placed by November 1. Please pass your order to Pearl or Ron Barton (plots 21b and 22b ) with full payment, either by cheque or in cash.
